Sen. Pippy co-chairing legislator's group

A chance to exchange policy ideas with lawmakers from across the nation

State Senator John Pippy is now serving as the co-chairman of Pennsylvania's delegation to the largest nonpartisan organization of state lawmakers in the nation.

As the co-chairman of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) for Pennsylvania, along with state Representative Ron Marsico, Senator Pippy is now in a prime position to develop policy on key issues with his colleagues from across the nation.

"The United States may be large and diverse; however, there are many common issues that face state legislators across the nation," Senator Pippy said. "Through ALEC, we can compare notes on those common issues and exchange ideas to enact substantive legislative reforms."

Senator Pippy has been active with ALEC since 1998 and has served as the head of its Homeland Security Task Force.

ALEC is the nation's largest nonpartisan, individual membership organization of state legislators, with over 2,400 legislative members from all fifty states, and 99 alumni members serving in the U.S. Congress.  Its mission is to conduct a policy making program that unites members of the public and private sector in a dynamic partnership to support research and policy development on issues facing the United States.
