Pippy Announces $225,000 in Parks and Recreation Grants

Harrisburg – State Sen. John Pippy (R-37) today announced the awarding of $225,000 in state grants to aid four community park projects in the 37th Senatorial District.

The senator announced the following Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants:

  • $40,000 to Bell Acres Borough to rehabilitate the Bell Acres Borough Park playground, including play equipment, benches and landscaping.
  • $20,000 to Oakdale Borough for the renovation of the borough park.
  • $65,000 to South Fayette Township to renovate Morgan Park.
  • $100,000 to South Park Township for the further development of Evans Park.

"Community parks are a great place to gather with family and neighbors for exercise, recreation or just a stroll. These municipalities have made a commitment to providing this open space to citizens and it is good to see the state acting as a partner to help cover the costs," said Pippy.

The Community Conservation Partnerships Program is administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
